Advent Day 9: The Saga Continues

Make sure you read Day 8 before you read this post.

Mrs Clause, Jingle, Jangle and Iggy arrive at Heat Miser's home and are treated to a similar though less impressive into song (see video below). The master of heat is extremely against their wishes to allow one day of snow in the south. Feeling jilted by Santa who has chosen to set up shop at the North Pole and presumably take sides with his brother, Heat Miser sees no reason to do them this favor. Then he has a thought; if he is to give up his territory for one day then his brother should be obliged to do the same. His price is one spring day in the North Pole. Lacking the authority to make this deal herself, Mrs Clause Skypes Snow Miser from Heat Miser's home. The two brothers begin bickering and a compromise cannot be made. Frustrated at the childish ways of the brothers, Mrs Clause goes above their heads. She grabs her companions and flies off to see Mother Nature herself.

Mother Nature's home is situated under a rainbow and amidst a grove of trees. She constantly wears gardening gloves and allows a mother bird to nest atop her hat. Mother Nature invites the weary travelers in for tea and quickly sides with Mrs Clause on the issue at hand. She sees the importance of giving Santa a holiday and is willing to do whatever it takes to see that he gets one. Quickly she summons her sons to her and explains what they are to do and why. Heat Miser is to allow one day of snow in South Town while Snow Miser is to allow one spring day at the North Pole. The brothers hate this decision but they cannot argue with their mother.

While all of this is happening, Santa has secured Vixen's release from the pound and has taken her back to the North Pole. The two of them get some much needed rest and overcome their illnesses by the time everyone returns home. The mayor of South Town is astounded to look out his window and see snow blanketing his town. Accepting that his visitors were legitimate, the major calls every other major in America to secure Santa's holiday for him. Soon every other country joins in the plan to give Santa a year off. Santa awakes to the news that the whole world has declared a holiday for him. Instead of expecting presents, the children wrote cards and wrapped gifts for Santa.

All of this is well and good until Santa receives an unexpected Christmas card. It is from a small girl who explains that she will be very sad this Christmas because he is not coming. She makes none great protest that you would expect from a greedy child wanting gifts, instead she simply states that she will be brokenhearted to not be visited by him this year. This shakes Santa out of his depressed state of mind and he rallies the elves and reindeer. Christmas is back on! The story ends with Santa's sleigh making its way up Santa Clause Lane in South Town to deliver presents to all the good girls and boys.

Hope you have enjoyed this expose on a Christmas classic. If you aren't questioning my sanity or at least enjoying my ramblings, tune in again tomorrow.
